THE SAW FEATURES:

Ground-Breaking performance, construction methods and wing shaping.

SAW – Agile Power Meets All-Purpose Precision

This wing is ground-breaking in performance, construction methods, and wing shaping. With all-new shaping profiles and trim, it performs like nothing else we have previously offered.

Features

  • Full FT-30 construction
  • True-cell construction (vs. I-beam construction on most parachutes) for significantly better shaping and sail tensioning across lift-producing areas — reducing drag
  • Modified true-cell construction uses internal upper surface seams, eliminating bulky exterior seams and associated drag
  • External bottom surface line-tab attachments for easier maintenance
  • Incorporated top skin logo — the SAW is as good-looking as it flies
  • New packs approximately one size larger than the AW2 when brand new; pack volume reduces slightly with use

Flight Characteristics

The recovery arc is shorter than the AW2, with noticeably less sink at the bottom — more defined and crisp, but make no mistake: the SAW dives until you stop it.

Roll behavior is responsive and lively, slightly softer than the AW2 to allow for freestyle use. Harness feedback is intuitive but not twitchy, and the SAW — like many Fluid Wings — shines when piloted via harness and rear risers.

The rear risers have very progressive feedback: early input is stable, but with deeper input comes significant response. We believe these are the best rear risers we’ve ever flown, especially deep into the input range.

The flare has a strong finish — even when the rears have been held just a bit too long. The SAW was originally built for sponsored pilots seeking a wing that could do it all — flocking, freefall, and freestyle on the pond — and we believe this is it.

Opening Characteristics

The SAW was designed to be the ultimate daily driver for free fall jumps. Our test team reports reliable openings with the smooth, fluid feel you’ve come to expect from our wings.

Production

To accommodate the complexity of the SAW’s build, certain production steps were streamlined. As a result, color options are limited. Custom colors within our specified pattern are available for an additional $500 and may incur longer delivery times.
